Ankita Puri-Taneja has a Ph.D. in Biology from University of Illinois at Chicago with several years of research experience. She joined the MASALA study group in 2012. She has been involved in participant recruitment, study visits and retention for the study. She enjoys interacting with the participants and is passionate about participatory research. She is a highly motivated researcher who enjoys data collection and analysis. She created e-MASALA, an Internet based secure platform for completion of annual follow up by the participants which she also manages. She feels strongly about health issues in the South Asian community and being a part of the MASALA study provides her the opportunity to work for the community.
